"Me smart orc.
Other orc need go around and bash. Other orc need dig and farm. Other orc carry stuff and things. Not me. Me smartest kind of orc: Me use magic!"
-- Sorch Stonebender, orc mage.
Sorch is an orc mage in a world where orcs are cursed with stupidity every time they cast a spell. The only spell he can safely cast is Enhance Intelligence, which feeds a mysterious artefact called the ‘Voodoo Engine’ and gets work done for his tribe. Sorch is basically a slave, casting a single spell over and over again to avoid being beaten by the chief’s warrior caste.
With the help of some new friends, Sorch breaks the cycle and becomes a real mage. He leaves his swamp and embarks on a series of incredibly dangerous adventures. During his travels he encounters horrible injury, magical treasures, love, snow, university admissions tests, a plot against the Kingdom, and then of course he saves the world.
Or does he?
"What in the heck is this?!
I was looking for a unique voice, but I didn't think you'd go all 'Flowers for Algernon'. Why didn't you write the next 'Harry Potter' but with sexy vampires?"
-- Elvis Z. Hornstout III, literary agent.

The novel is available exclusively on Amazon. You can read it on just about any PC, Mac, phone, tablet, or E-book reader by downloading the free Kindle E-book reader (U.S., U.K., Canada) and adding Another Stupid Spell to your library.
"Oh you wrote a book, that's great dear. What's an orc? Is that from your dungeons and wagons game?"
-- My mom.
